A World Behind the Screen

A World Behind the Screen

The internet is a big part of a child’s life today. Children use it for school, entertainment, and talking to friends. While it can be helpful, it can also be dangerous. Many children are still exposed to online abuse and exploitation, and some of them do not know how to protect themselves or where to ask for help.

The government has programs and campaigns that focus on keeping children safe online. There are school talks, posters, and hotlines that encourage reporting abuse. These efforts show that the government is aware of the problem and is trying to protect children. However, not all children receive this information, especially those in far areas or those who do not have enough guidance at home.

Another problem is that some cases are not reported right away. Children may feel scared, confused, or ashamed, which makes them stay silent. Even with laws in place, abuse still happens because some adults do not act quickly or seriously enough. This makes the protection of children feel incomplete for many victims.

Children deserve to feel safe both online and offline. The government, parents, and schools need to work together and improve how they protect children. When adults listen and take action, children can feel more secure and valued. Keeping children safe is not only a responsibility, but also a promise that must be fulfilled.
