Love is in the Air

Valentine’s Day has always felt like a day when love floats in the air, soft and bright, making even ordinary moments feel magical. This year, I celebrated it with my friends and my special someone heheh and it honestly felt like the world was wrapped in this warm, happy glow. Every laugh, every smile, even the little gestures seemed to sparkle a little more than usual.

When I was a kid, I was really crafty. I would make love letters for my parents on Valentine’s Day, their birthdays, or any special event. I don’t really know why I stopped doing it, maybe I just grew up or life got busier, but thinking back, I realized how much I loved making things that came from the heart. This year, I felt that crafty side of me come alive again and it made me so happy. I made clay figures of me and him, bought him a Kinder Bueno because I remembered it was his favorite, and even made him a hirono rose bouquet. Seeing him smile when he received them made all the little hours of preparation feel worth it.

He also surprised me in ways that were just as thoughtful. He made me a bouquet, which was my very first time receiving flowers and it felt extra special because it was from him. He gave me a makeup pouch that I really love, a tiny dog keychain, and a “Museum of Us” mini museum filled with little memories of us. Each gift and detail felt personal and thoughtful and it made me realize how love is not just about big gestures. It is about paying attention to the small things that make someone feel seen.

Being creative and sharing these little pieces of myself reminded me that love is not something that should only be celebrated on Valentine’s Day. It should be part of every day, in little acts of kindness, thoughtfulness, and care. This day also reminded me that Valentine’s Day is not just about romantic love or a crush. It is about the people who matter, the connections we hold, and the joy we create for each other. Now I try to show love more often, not just on special days. To be known is to be loved, and this year I felt that more clearly than ever.

At the end of the day, Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love in all its forms. It is messy, playful, heartfelt, and magical. It is in the small details, the smiles, the laughter, and the quiet moments that make life feel extraordinary. Love is everywhere, in every little gesture, every thoughtful word, every moment we share, and that is what makes it truly everything.
