My Second Quarter Reflection

Image
My Second Quarter Reflection D uring the second quarter, I discovered a new study method that made learning more enjoyable and effective for me. Instead of just reading my notes over and over, I started summarizing lessons in my own words and testing myself with questions after studying. It felt refreshing to learn this way because it helped me truly understand the lessons instead of just memorizing them. I also realized that studying a little every day works better than cramming before exams. This new approach made me feel more confident and prepared, and it turned studying into something I actually looked forward to instead of something I just had to do. O ne of the biggest challenges I faced this quarter was balancing all my school tasks and responsibilities. There were times when everything felt overwhelming, especially when several deadlines were close to each other. I sometimes found it hard to focus or stay motivated when I was already tired from all the work. It wasn’t e...

Discover the Beauty of Santo Domingo, Ilocos Sur

Image
Discover the Beauty of Santo Domingo, Ilocos Sur Santo Domingo, Ilocos Sur is a quiet yet remarkable town in the northern part of the province. Though not widely known, this town is rich in history, culture, and natural beauty. It is composed of thirty-six barangays where most residents make a living through farming. Rice, corn, sugarcane, tobacco, and vegetables are the main products here. The people are known for their hard work and discipline, which is why the local economy continues to grow. In every field, one can see the cooperation and unity of the residents, proof that the Ilocano spirit is alive and strong in Santo Domingo. One of the town’s historical landmarks is the Monumento ti Pagulidanan, a monument built to honor Santo Domingueños who brought pride to their hometown. The names of the Arangkada Awardees are engraved on it as a tribute to their outstanding contributions to society. Powering the Future with Science

Image
Powering the Future with Science     As a student, I believe that in the coming decades, the relationship between science and society will become even stronger. Science will continue to play a big role in solving problems that affect people’s daily lives, like health issues, climate change, and even education. As technology keeps improving, our society will also improve, because science helps make things faster, easier, and more efficient.      For example, in the future, science might help cure more diseases using advanced medicine or new machines. It can also help create better ways to protect the environment, like using clean energy or recycling waste. These things will not just help a few people but entire communities and countries. Science can help society grow, survive, and live better lives.      At the same time, society needs to support science. This means giving support to researchers, schools, and students who want to study ...

Insight on Climate Change and Resiliency of Filipinos

Image
Insight on Climate Change and Resiliency of Filipinos      One of the main reasons for the sudden and gradual changes in the environment is human activity, like cutting down too many trees, pollution, and using too many natural resources. In the Philippines, illegal logging and turning forests into farms or housing areas remove the natural protection we have against floods and landslides. On top of that, smoke from cars, factories, and burning trash releases greenhouse gases that make the Earth hotter. This makes storms stronger and the weather harder to predict, which puts many communities in danger.      Another big reason is where the Philippines is located. Our country is in the Pacific Ring of Fire and the typhoon belt, which means we naturally experience earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and many typhoons every year. Because of climate change, these disasters are becoming worse. We experience higher sea levels, longer dry seasons, and stronger t...

My Experience During The Intramurals

Image
My Experience During The Intramurals     The intramurals at Ilocos Sur National High School was actually pretty fun. It lasted for two whole days, and even though I didn’t join any events, I still enjoyed just being there and watching everything happen. The school felt more lively than usual because there were students everywhere, cheering, laughing, and running around from one game to another.      My friends and I spent most of our time going around and watching different sports. We started with basketball because that was where the loudest cheers were coming from. At first, I had no idea what was going on. I only knew that you get a score when you shoot the ball, but I didn’t know who gets a foul or why the referee kept blowing the whistle. My friends patiently explained the rules to me, and soon I was clapping along with the crowd. The games were so fast and intense that I didn’t even notice how much time had passed.      After that,...

Building a Cleaner and Safer Community Together We sweep fallen leaves to keep our surroundings clean and safe. Even small actions like this help prevent hazards and promote a healthier environment. We joined a tree-planting activity to help prevent floods and maintain fresh air. Planting trees is an investment for the next generation.   We separate biodegradable from non-biodegradable waste. Proper waste segregation reduces pollution and helps protect nature.   We properly place garbage sacks by the gate for collection. This simple habit helps maintain order and cleanliness in the community.

First Quarter Reflection

Image
My First Quarter Reflection  This first quarter has been a journey of adjustment, learning, and growth. When classes started, I wasn’t really that nervous about meeting my classmates because almost half of them had already been my classmates before. That familiarity made me feel comfortable right away, and I had no problems with my section at all. Everything feels good, and I get along well with everyone. I was also happy because some of my close friends became my classmates again. Back in Grade 9, I was separated from them, so it feels nice to be with them once more. Sadly, two of my other friends were separated from our class this year, and I miss them. Still, I’m thankful that I’m surrounded by familiar faces who make school feel more fun and less stressful.      I also had to adjust to having new teachers. At first, I worried that they might be too strict or hard to approach. But as the weeks passed, I realized that they are actually kind, approachable, a...
